Some love stories begin in unexpected places—and for Atlanna and Eric, it all started at their required military summer training back in 2016. Years later, fate brought them together again, and by February 2022, they were officially inseparable. Their first date may have been a work event for Eric, but it also came with a sweet story: he picked up Atlanna in her 1981 Trans Am and even told a stranger along the way that it was his girlfriend’s car.
A Proposal with a Twist
Atlanna was the one to propose to Eric — during a night filled with laughter, drinks, and the looming reality of Eric’s upcoming deployment. Her proposal was playful, heartfelt, and perfectly them: “Do you want to make some extra cash while you’re gone?” Eric’s response was “Yes, but how?” She replied, “We get married before you leave.” Eric didn’t hesitate and the two chose to elope not long after, beginning their forever in the most genuine way possible.
A Wedding Day Filled with Love
When it came time to plan their enchanted garden wedding in Berthoud, CO, they wanted their day to reflect their love story—joyful, colorful, and surrounded by people who mattered most. They chose a soft blue and gray color palette and included heartfelt details such as a memorial chair and Eric’s custom tie clip.
Their enchanted garden wedding day arrived in true Colorado fashion: hot, humid, and sunny. Atlanna’s parents walked her to her and Eric’s first look moment and they shared a sweet time together before the busiest part of the day began.
Eric’s favorite memory from the day was their first dance, a moment they had practiced and prepared for, which turned into pure fun and connection. For Atlanna, it was nearly impossible to pick just one favorite memory. “It is so hard to pick one from such a perfect day,” she shared. “But I think my favorite was being able to celebrate with all the people who love us.”
