Spring Wedding at the Boulders at Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park

Jeb and Mikaila’s wedding at Boulders at Black Canyon Inn  in Estes Park was one I will remember forever.

These two met online in January of 2021 and a week later shared their first date at John Galt Coffee Co in Greeley. Jeb very quickly found out that Mikaila doesn’t drink coffee but they still had a great time despite the shocking news. They quickly became inseparable over their shared love for all things nerdy and adventuring together, especially if those adventures include ice cream. Mikaila loved Jeb’s huge heart and he fell in love with her fun-loving spirit and caring nature.

Two and a half years later, Jeb suspiciously told Mikaila that she needed to dress up but that they were going on a hike first with friends before dinner. After she hiked a mile in a dress, Jeb asked her to marry him! Of course, she said yes! After their hike, they went to La Loma where Jeb’s true surprise of the night occurred. Sitting at a large table in the center of the room were some of the couple’s closest friends and family, some who had traveled several hours to be there. They all arrived not exactly knowing why, but were all happy to help celebrate with the couple! It was a perfect evening that continued with champagne toasts at a great little cocktail bar called Provision.

They chose the Boulders at Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park as the stunning venue for their big day for it’s mountain views and easy access. Mikaila created their florals and bouquets from Sola Wood Flowers for a custom and keepable look and her dress was custom-made by a dress designer in Ukraine! And be sure to scroll to the end for the wedding party lightsaber duel.

When asked about their favorite wedding memory, Mikaila’s response was “when we were all, finally, sitting down for dinner I got my first breath and was able to look out at all the wonderful people who had helped make it such a special day”. Jeb’s favorite wedding memory was when Mikaila read the vows she wrote herself. The lightsaber battle in the dark during the reception is a close second though!

I love that these two don’t take themselves too seriously and love to be silly together! They were up for pretty much anything and threw one heck of a celebration. Congrats, you two! Many blessings and joy as you begin the next chapter of eating huckleberry ice cream in Montana and maybe going camping. 😉 #abrantnewchapter

The couple’s biggest wedding planning advice: “Firstly, always keep in mind why you are actually there and don’t get lost in the details. Something will always go wrong but you are the only one who will notice. The day will still be amazing! Secondly, soak it up and spend as much time next to your spouse as possible. You will want these memories to be together! And finally, don’t skimp on the photos, for real. This is what will drive thousands of stories and memories for years to come.”
