Maya Angelou's words fill my mind constantly as a business owner in the wedding industry. I strive for trust from my clients and to provide each of my couple's with a fantastic experience as a vendor.
However, this concept goes both ways. I never forget how my clients make me feel, especially at one of their happiest days. Katelyn and Devan's wedding day was one of these days.
These two beautiful people planned a beautiful wedding at Pelican Lakes Wedding Island for their family and friends to enjoy as witness to the start of their forever.
In true Colorado summer fashion, the thermometer rose quickly to near 100 degrees and not a cloud in the blue sky. As Kate walked down the aisle towards her future husband, Devan was overcome with tears. As photographer, I had to fight back my own tears, it was a beautiful moment! They shared a dramatic first kiss and spent the evening laughing, dancing, and living.
Kate and Devan met while working at Dairy Queen. He treated her to dinner and a movie for their first date, and they spent the night up talking and star-gazing. Shortly after, their long distance relationship began. Devan had been stationed in North Carolina for six months and flew back to Kate to surprise her with a ring while she was at her preschool as a teacher. With both families present to witness the proposal, Kate was completely taken by surprise when she entered a classroom to "pick out some toys for her room" and there stood Devan and some students with letters to spell out "Will You Marry Me?"!
I'm honored to have gotten to know such a God-fearing, confident, and joyful couple. Their future is bright and full of dreams.
