Macy and David’s wedding at Denver Atheltic Club in Denver, CO was one I won’t soon forget. I met this glamorous couple through a fellow photographer, Danna Frost Photography. Danna was highly pregnant during October and asked me to step in and photograph this downtown wedding.
I will be completely honest, I was slightly dreading Macy and David's wedding. Not because of them (they are crazy sweet people!), but because urban downtown weddings are usually not my jam. I'm such a mountain girl, the thought of shooting an entire wedding in the concrete jungle was terrifying!
And boy, as soon as I walked into their wedding to begin photographing, my mind was changed! The Denver Athletic Club is beautiful, unique, and full of character! Macy and David's wedding quickly became one of my favorite weddings of all time!
Macy and David are a fun-loving, adventurous, and graceful couple in love. This is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, outdoor weddings, and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives.
The day started in a light-filled room on the second floor of the DAC. The girls were busy getting makeup and hair done, freshening up, and sharing giggles with the bride. The guys were in the rich, deep-wood toned lounge exchanging jokes and drinks.
Macy was surrounded with so much love from her girls as they toasted to the next chapter in her life. Her mother helped get her in the dress and put the finishing touches on. Macy's bridesmaids entered the room to see her for the first time and it was magic. Tears, hugs, laughter. My heart was so full being around this amazing group. We were outstandingly lucky to have a beautiful fall day in October with warm temperatures during the day and a cool, crisp evening. The rooftop ceremony overlooked downtown Denver. Macy and David entered their reception ballroom to the cheers and claps of 200 guests and danced their first dance under the glow of beautiful chandeliers.
We ended the evening with a couple of downtown night photos (one of my favorite things to do!). I wish these two the happiest of futures!
