Few sounds embody "summer" than these: buzzing insects, a breeze running through the trees, the subtle peaceful lapping of water on the lake shore. Samantha and Evan's late summer wedding outside Scott City, Kansas was the perfect mix of these wonderful summer sounds and elegant love.
I had the honor of working as second shooter for Plum Pretty Photography. When Melissa asked if I'd be interested in road-tripping to Kansas to shoot this September wedding, I couldn't turn it down! We drove six hours to the west side of the state and were quickly welcomed into Sam and Evan's family during their rehearsal dinner. The next day we sweated and laughed, and worked our tails off documenting Sam and Evan's INCREDIBLE heart-felt wedding.
Their ceremony took place in the Carpenter Chapel at Camp Lakeside. With fall tones, leaves, and candles the chapel was decorated beautifully. They opted for green bridesmaids' dresses and vibrant bouquets. Evan was dressed impeccably in a bespoke tailored suit from overseas.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom drove away for portraits in a vintage car and we watched the sun go down from a nearby field. Upon return, their guests were fully enjoying the open-air outdoor reception complete with an appetizer table, string lights, and custom black-and-white-checkered dance floor.
Here are my favorites from their wedding! Enjoy :)
