Gaby and Gary. Gary and Gaby. These two go together like wine and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, or comfy jeans and Friday night.
I knew instantly upon meeting them that these two would be so fun to get to know! Last fall, we shot their engagement photos in the middle of fall paradise in Rocky Mountain National Park and it was beautiful. Gaby and Gary are personable, totally fun-lovin', and all giggles together. They love to joke and travel together. Totally my kind of people!
Their July wedding arrived in full summer heat. They chose to have a traditional ceremony at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish with celebration to follow at the Waymire Dome of Adams County Fairgrounds. Their Mass ceremony was beautiful and full of culture and as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife and walked down the aisle hand-in-hand, you could feel the unity and joy throughout the parish.
I had the pleasure of riding with the bridal party to the reception in a huge party bus (I mean, c'mon there were 16 in their bridal party!) to document the shenanigans therein. We arrived to the Waymire Dome just in time for a huge storm to build directly overhead; we bolted for cover as the wind kicked up, the clouds swirled above us, and the rain came down! Fortunately, just after dinner the storm passed on and we had the most beautiful golden sunlight to photograph their portraits.
When it came time for toasts, Gaby's father gave a speech that left the entire guest list (including us photographers) in tears. It was beautiful and from his heart and is a moment they will cherish forever.
Gaby and Gary met ten years ago. They knew each other for 5 years before actually starting to date, hanging out with friends. Their first official date was dinner at Cheesecake Factory after they had both finished college. They were inseparable from then on, drinking cider at various pubs across London and seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up with fireworks on Bastille Day.
When it came time to ask Gaby to marry him and the ring was finally purchased, Gary dropped to one knee on an ocean pier in Cancun and asked her to marry him. Gaby cried and the rest of the night was spent sitting by the pool drinking piña coladas and calling their family and friends back home with the news!
These two love to travel and have enjoyed 4 countries and 22 states together, and have goals to travel to as many places as possible!
Gaby's response when asked her favorite wedding memory: "My favorite wedding memory would have to be walking down and seeing Gary's face at the end of that aisle. I will never forget the look that he gave me and I have never been more sure of any decision I've ever made."
