Ashley & Joesy - Winding River Ranch Wedding - Grand Lake Wedding Photography

This summer has been full of amazing weddings in beautiful locations, and of course with the best couples! If you've never been over to the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake area, you are missing out!

Ashley and Joesy chose Winding River Ranch to celebrate their marriage. Relatively close to the headwaters of the mighty Colorado River, this ranch offers spectacular views of the Never Summer Mountains. With camping and accommodations on site, this venue is basically perfect.

These two love birds professed their love to one another, shared a first kiss, and immediately cracked open their first beer as husband and wife. Their family and friends cheered as they walked back down the aisle together.

It's hard to believe from the photos, but we were actually dodging rain storms all day long! But just as the ceremony began, the sun came out and the next storm stayed away long enough for portraits. Hello, Colorado!

Ashley and Joesy are high school sweethearts. They were that couple, always together. They had talked about marriage for a long while, but Ashley wanted to finish nursing school before taking that next step. The summer before her last year of school, Joesy proposed during a Memorial Day weekend camping trip. In true rugged fashion, they went 4-wheeling and he dropped to one knee at their favorite overlook in the mountains to ask her to be his wife.

They had Ashley's niece along for the off-roading drive; upon arrival to the rock outcrop Joesy handed her Ashley's brand new Nikon camera to "take a few pics of us". After a few photos, Joesy turned to her and said, "well I thought it would be the perfect time...". And Ashley was completely clueless. She thought he was going to throw a snake or bug on her so she backed away and jumped! Then Joesy said, "not a good time?" Ashley's clueless response: "a good time for what??" Then before she knew it, he was down on one knee asking her to marry him. He choked back tears and Ashley is pretty sure she blacked out. And her 7-year-old niece was able to photograph the entire thing!

I'm truly blessed to be a small part of each of my couple's special days! It's an honor to witness their love and the start of forever.
