I met Carly this past summer. Well, technically I met her mother and fiance, Austin, first. Our consultation was a family affair and it was so fun chatting about their upcoming wedding with everyone! They are planning a June wedding at Platte River Fort. With a ceremony site nestled in a line of Cottonwoods, barn to host receptions, and beautiful river front property for portraits, it's a perfect venue for having a great time!
It's always a gamble to schedule photo sessions in the winter. Here in Colorado, we can have a 60 degree day in the middle of January followed by a snow storm and 24" of fresh snowfall the next. Seeing the forecast was clear, Carly and Austin decided on Evergreen as the backdrop for their engagement photos on New Year's Eve. It was my last session of the year and we were blessed with temps in the 30s and warm, golden sunlight! Not gonna lie though, stepping out of my car to greet them was like walking into a deep freezer. Brrrrrrrr!
We enjoyed a walk along the south edge of the lake and chatted about movies, fishing adventures, and their husky (who sadly didn't join us!). Can't wait to see these two in June!
