Megan and Jarred's Summer Wedding at Platte River Fort - Colorado Wedding Photographer - Sarah G

They met five and a half years ago at the Grizzly Rose. And just three weeks ago, they were married in front of their family and best friends on a ranch in Colorado on a hot summer day. Megan and Jarred are fun and adventurous, and when I first met them I knew we'd get along great!

When it came time to propose, Jarred had a few secrets up his sleeve. They had just gotten their new puppy, Nya. They booked a photo session for some "family portraits" with the newest family member. During the photo shoot, Jarred called Nya over. She had a little pink bag wrapped around her neck (well, it ended up in her mouth by the time she got to them haha!), and Jarred asked Megan to grab it. When she did, two dog tags fell out. One of the tags said, "Today is the best day ever so let's spend the rest of our lives together!", and the other one said "Will you marry me?". She turned around to find Jarred down on one knee. And obviously she said YES!

Megan and Jarred chose Platte River Fort for its easy access, beautiful views, and of course laid-back ranch vibe. Their wedding day arrived in true Colorado fashion: hot and sunny. Megan spent the morning with her girls, getting prepared for the day while Jarred toasted whiskey shots with his guys. Spirits were high and anticipation was thick in the air.

These two decided not to have a first look together. At the start of the ceremony, Jarred turned his back towards the aisle. As Megan walked down the aisle, Jarred turned around to see his bride for the first time. It was an incredible moment! I get goosebumps just thinking about it! In lieu of a unity candle, they combined their favorite bottles of whiskey in a mini barrel to age over the coming years. Both bottles didn't quite fit in the barrel, so they both took a swig and passed the bottle down the line of their groomsmen. It was a perfect moment during their ceremony! Shortly after, they were sharing their first kiss and life forever changed.

Megan and Jarred love camping and spending time with Nya. When asked for their biggest advice for couple's planning a wedding, they said, "Don't stress, it's going to be okay!"

I'm thrilled to share some highlights from their wedding! A huge thanks to all the vendors who helped pull of a flawless day!
