Sometimes everything aligns in the most perfect way—and sometimes, that happens on your wedding day. Jordyn and Brayden contacted me a few months ago to start dreaming up their ideal celebration, and it all began with the date: October 1. From there, the vision was clear—they wanted a quiet mountain lake elopement with easy access, gorgeous fall colors, and a peaceful setting to share their vows and first kiss as husband and wife. And they got exactly that!
Their love story started years ago in high school. Jordyn was the new girl for freshman year, but it wasn’t until Halloween that their paths officially crossed. Their friend groups met up that night, and Jordyn and Brayden hit it off instantly. Brayden’s quiet, caring personality won her over, and Jordyn quickly fell in love with his unconditional kindness and ability to make her smile.
Fast forward several years and their family grew with the arrival of their sweet little boy, Clay! After Clay was born, Brayden decided it was time for the next chapter. He told Jordyn they were heading to his grandparents’ house for family photos. When she arrived, Brayden’s dad told her to look out the back window for elk—but instead, she found Brayden and Clay waiting under the gazebo. When Brayden asked her to marry him, Jordyn said YES!
When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple knew they wanted an intimate day in the mountains, surrounded by nature and family. A Colorado mountain lake elopement was the perfect choice. I suggested Brainard Lake for its breathtaking views and easy access, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for their fall wedding. Their families tagged along to quietly witness the day, adding even more love to the experience.
Jordyn and Brayden shared a heartfelt first look before exploring the area to soak in the last of the autumn color. Back at the lake, they exchanged vows in the crisp mountain air with shimmering water and golden leaves framing every moment.
One unexpected twist? The bouquet was accidentally left at home—but their family came to the rescue with not one, but two beautiful bouquets to feature in their photos! We laughed, we explored, and we celebrated a day that was nothing short of magical. Including Clay in the photos made everything even sweeter—this wasn’t just a wedding, it was a family adventure.
Congratulations, Jordyn and Brayden! Your mountain lake elopement was an incredible celebration of love, and I’m honored to have captured the first day of your forever.
Their biggest planning advice? “Focus on each other and delegate the rest! You’ll only regret time you didn’t spend with your partner.” ❤️
