Alexis and Eric's love story goes back a long time... before high school... before middle school. They met in 5th grade and later shared a few movie dates in 7th and 8th grade. They officially started dating in 9th grade when their parents would drive them to movies. Eric's ability to make Alexis laugh and her caring heart kept their friendship strong and their love growing throughout the years.
When it came time to take the next step, Eric took Alexis to Crystal Lakes where his family has property. Out on a frozen lake, he asked her to marry him with their sisters and friends to witness. It was magical and of course, she said YES!
They chose Platte River Fort east of Greeley as the backdrop for their summer wedding. With its country vibe and beautiful sweeping views, it's a stunning option for couples who want simplicity and a good time! Their June 11 date arrived HOT. And by HOT, I don't mean hot. I mean, possibly the hottest day of the year hot. But even with the thermometer climbing towards 100, these two love birds were all smiles as we arrived for prep photos.
There were so many special moments. One of my favorites (and their favorites!) was when one of Alexis' grandmothers gave her wedding rings that belonged to her grandmothers to hold with her bouquet. It was a surprise for Alexis and the tears flowed.
As the sun went down, the party got started. These two danced the night away with their great tribe of family and friends. Congrats, you two! What a day!
The couple's biggest wedding planning advice: "It goes by so quickly, enjoy every moment of planning regardless of the stress. It’s a once in a lifetime experience for the two of you."
