Recently, this brave duo completed their ultimate campaign—armed with sacred vows, +3 Rings of Commitment, and the unwavering support of their party. Together, they faced the final boss of wedding planning, landing a Critical Hit of Love to defeat the Big Bad Evil Guy once and for all. With victory secured, they began their next quest of married life: sharing the loot (cake), rolling Saves vs. Extreme Joy, and adventuring to exotic new locales (Hawaii, anyone?). Frida and Maiki’s wedding was more than just a celebration—it was a colorful nerdy wedding that felt like stepping straight into an epic campaign written just for them.

From the playful details woven throughout the day to the emotional moments that delighted their tribe, their wedding was proof that a nerd wedding can be both whimsical and deeply heartfelt. The way Maiki looked at Frida during the ceremony and beyond spoke volumes—like a bard’s ballad come to life. Every glance was filled with admiration, joy, and a love story already legendary in the making. Their wedding day was a vivid reflection of who they are: adventurous, unapologetically unique, and so full of color and heart.

These two met at yoga and got to know one another during a studio running club. A short time later, they enjoyed an official first date at Ginger and Baker in Fort Collins, and then went out for drinks after. They had parked near one another and walked back to their cars, sharing a first kiss.

Fast forward to November of last year, their friends invited the two of them on a hike to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Maiki mentioned to Frida that she should bring a change of clothes, but otherwise everything seemed like a normal day of hiking.  The day was cloudy and chilly, and when they arrived to the lake, there was light snow falling. Frida took a few pictures of their friends on the ice, completely oblivious to what Maiki was doing: taking a ring out of his pocket. They went down on the ice for photos and when Frida turned around, Maiki was down on one knee. In her total surprise, she immediately said YES!

These two planned a perfect wedding. When asked, Frida’s favorite wedding memory was their ceremony and hearing Maiki’s vows.

As their photographer, I was honored to document this epic tale—from the laughter of their friends and family to the vibrant décor that matched their spirit. It was a campaign I’ll never forget, and I can’t wait to see the adventures these two embark on in their next chapter together.
