There’s something so magical about fall weddings in Colorado — that perfect mix of golden light, crisp air, and rich, moody color. But Jessica and Micah’s gothic fall wedding at Sweet Heart Winery took that magic to a whole new level. With black candles, cozy lanterns, and stars and moon details woven throughout the decor, their day was the perfect balance of dark romance and heartfelt connection.

A Love Story 9 Years in the Making

These two met through a mutual friend group back in college, and their story has been unfolding ever since. After 8 years together, Micah proposed to Jessica in April 2024 during dinner at a restaurant in Grand Junction. The night didn’t end there — the two visited the breathtaking Colorado National Momument afterward, soaking in the moment and dreaming of their future together.

The Perfect Fall Day at Sweet Heart Winery

When their October wedding day arrived, it was everything a  Colorado fall wedding should be — warm sunlight, crisp air, and golden leaves fluttering across the property. Sweet Heart Winery, nestled in the foothills of Loveland, set the stage perfectly with its cozy atmosphere and mountain views.

The couple filled the space with thoughtful, personal details that reflected their personalities — a dark cozy feel with soft lantern light and an intimate handfasting ceremony that beautifully symbolized their bond. The moody, romantic atmosphere felt deeply personal, as if every element carried a piece of their story.

Rather than leaning fully into fall tones, the couple paired their gothic inspiration with  a dark forest palette of deep teal, green, and blue.

As the ceremony began, surrounded by their closest friends and family, Jessica and Micah wrapped their hands together with a deep green cord during their handfasting ritual — a nod to ancient traditions and the idea of being “bound by love.” It was tender, powerful, and deeply symbolic. Later, as the sun dipped behind the foothills, the winery glowed with candlelight and laughter. Guests rolled D&D dice at the bar, read hand-written letters from the couple, and danced under lights that echoed the cozy feel of the night. Congrats, you two!
