Kaitlyn and Lance’s Winter Wedding at Arrowhead Golf Course – Denver Colorado Wedding Photography

Kaitlyn and Lance met in 2016 at a TopGolf in Virginia through their golf league. They were both working at the Gaylord Nationals and shared a non-traditional “first date” at work on tax day, staying and talking until midnight. The next day, Lance asked Kaitlyn out for pizza as their second date.

These two instantly realized they could be themselves around one another and shared goofy moments as they became best friends. Three years later, on a cold December evening just before New Years, Kaitlyn and Lance were enjoying the holiday display and activities at the Gaylord Rockies with their family and friends, when Lance surprised Kaitlyn with a small red box at the Rudolph ICE exhibit. Of course, she said YES!

These two set out to plan their dream wedding and quickly decided on November 14, 2020. This date was chosen with special meaning: it’s BOTH their parents’ anniversaries as well! And as golfers, they booked their big day with Arrowhead Golf Course as the perfect backdrop.

I met up with Kaitlyn and Lance this past September for their engagement photos in the Breckenridge area. We had the most beautiful evening and the best time! Zac with Wedding Videos Colorado even joined us to create a highlight film of their engagement, don’t miss Zac’s amazing film!

As with most couples, planning a wedding in 2020 didn’t come without challenges. With the counties constantly changing policies, I know we were all biting our nails coming into November! They were fortunate and their wedding day arrived sunny and cold. When we arrived to Castle Cliff Estate in Sedalia to capture their wedding prep, Kaitlyn opened the door with the biggest smile on her face. And when they shared a first look on the beautiful staircase inside the chateau, Lance was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Their ceremony was aired live for friends and family members who weren’t able to attend, and while the temperature dropped and the first snowflakes began to fall, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Every little detail was beautiful. From Kaitlyn’s AMAZING dress (can we just talk about it for a minute?!) and florals to Lance’s dapper suit and the snow squall that blew in, it was a day to remember.

We even saw a bobcat during their portraits AND ended the night under the stars.

When asked for their biggest wedding planning advice, Kaitlyn responded, “Don’t plan a wedding during a pandemic (LOL), but really, communication with one another is key and set task goals to stay on track and a realistic budget with flexibility, but mainly, enjoy it!”

Here are a few of my favorites to tell their story! I can’t wait to put the finishing touches on this gallery! Congrats, you two! Many blessings to you as you begin your forever journey.
