Maddie and DaVonte met during their freshman year of college, during which they were just friends. Towards the end of that year, they shared an epic first date of kayaking, rock climbing, and eating tacos. Their friendship and love for one another grew immensely and quickly they became inseparable.
Some time later, they shifted to a long-distance relationship for a bit while DaVonte was off for training in Georgia and Maddie moved to Colorado. Maddie decided to visit DaVonte for Valentine’s Day weekend in 2021, and DaVonte told her that a bunch of their friends were meeting up in Savannah. After a fun day of Topgolf in Augusta, they headed to Savannah to stay at an Airbnb with their friends. They all headed out for dinner that night, but their friends had to “last minute bail”, leaving just Maddie and DaVonte to enjoy a 5-course meal. After dinner, DaVonte pulled out a deck of couple’s questions cards and began to read through a few. He stopped at one card that said, “If you died tomorrow, what would be your biggest regret?” and answered it with “My biggest regret would be not asking you to marry me”. He got down on one knee and asked Maddie to marry him. She said YES!
I met up with Maddie and DaVonte last fall for engagement photos in the Rocky Mountains and truly had the best time getting to know them. They are some of the kindest people I know and I was so excited for their big day.
These two planned a stunning soiree at Arrowhead Golf Course. Their summer day started and finished sunny and warm. They shared the sweetest First Look together with views of the red rocks behind them. One of the first things I noticed about these two is the way that DaVonte looks at Maddie. Like, truly ADMIRES her. Their love is a beautiful thing.
After a few shenanigans on the driving range with their wedding party, their guests began to arrive. As Maddie walked down the aisle, DaVonte fought back tears and soon they shared their first kiss! The party began shortly after and OH MY GOSH, their tribe can PARTY. What a fun summer night!
