Marinda and Sam met in Texas while doing conservation fieldwork with the Texas Conservation Corps. They enjoyed a first date with drinks at a bar called Stay Gold and it was quickly evident they shared many common qualities and passions. Marinda fell in love with Sam's quiet confidence and Sam fell for Marinda's accepting personality.
On their dating anniversary some time later, Marinda could tell something was up with Sam. He told her that he had gotten her a gift, and that she could have it now or later. She chose now and quickly realized what the box was and what it meant... but she didn't have her glasses on so she couldn't see it properly! She was so focused on getting close enough to see the ring that she doesn't remember what Sam said, but immediately said YES!
These two initially chose October 10, 2020 as their wedding date. Of course, as with so many other couples, COVID put a damper in their plans and they decided to push the date back until they felt it was safe to host their dream wedding. Finally, October of 2022 arrived! It was worth the wait. Their day arrived in true Colorado fall fashion: crisp, colorful, and absolutely perfect. Their families and wedding party were truly so fun to work with and the day went off without a hitch.
My favorite part of their day was them sharing vows to each other privately after their First Look. It was a special time with the golden aspens and mountains as the only witness.
After the most unique and delicious dinner (hello, vegetarian "world tour" stations by Sugar Pine Catering!), they danced the night away as Mr and Mrs! They even shared a last dance at the end of the night to the John Denver song, "Take Me Home Country Roads". What a day! Without further ado, here are a few of my favorites from their day! Congrats, you two!
The couple's biggest wedding planning advice: "Set aside time each week to plan, work on to-dos, and talk through options and problems together. It doesn't have to be long, it could be one evening a week, an hour here or there. It will make a big difference over time!"
