Rachel and Taylor's Intimate Breckenridge Elopement Wedding - Colorado Wedding Photographer

When Rachel and Taylor originally planned their dream wedding, they envisioned an intimate event surrounded by family and the mountains of Colorado. They chose a spring date and reserved the ever-popular Sapphire Point near Breckenridge. Then when COVID-19 hit, they decided to postpone the date until the fall. But when Summit County cancelled wedding permits and eventually announced construction for Sapphire Point during that busy week in Setpember, they decided to get married in the backyard of the house in Breckenridge they rented for family vacation. Their perfect wedding dreams still came true: they were married surrounded by family and truly spectacular scenery.

These two love birds met through a mutual friend and shared a blind date five years ago. It quickly became apparent that their relationship was the forever sort and that they were the perfect fit to keep each other grounded during stressful times. They love traveling and spend as much time in Colorado as they can, skiing, hiking, and being in the mountains.

They had a vacation booked with family to California. The trip was a big deal and Rachel was convinced that Taylor would propose to her during their travels. But instead, he surprised her completely by proposing the night before they left! It was the perfect quiet night they were able to share together with a bottle of champagne.

When it came time to plan their big day, they talked about having a large, more traditional wedding but deep down inside, it's not what they truly wanted. Instead, they planned a small event to elope with their friends and family in a place dear to their hearts. When asked about their favorite wedding day memory, their response was perfect: "Being in the mountains with our family and just enjoying the scenery! I never imagined we’d be married in such a beautiful place with all of the yellow aspens! We ended our night eating and drinking lots of wine with candlelight and blankets-seriously magical."

Rachel chose an emerald green wedding dress and to be honest, it was the most beautiful dress. It was 100000% her and when Taylor saw her walking down the forested aisle during their ceremony, he was all smiles. After a sweet ceremony, these two shared a first kiss and we explored around the Breck area for portraits. With beautiful mountain views and vivid aspens filling their photos, it was one epic day!

Rachel's biggest wedding planning advice: "Take away all of the hectic details and focus on what the day means to you, and build your wedding from that feeling. I can’t think of one thing I would have done differently, and I think that’s how everyone is supposed to feel after their wedding."

Congrats, you two! Much love!
