Rachel and Stephen met on Hinge. She messaged him first and soon they shared a first date at Nicon's Coffee in Denver and a walk through Washington Park. Before their date even started, Rachel noticed how handsome Stephen was from across the street and instantly Stephen fell in love with Rachel's intelligence. They quickly connected as their relationship strengthened.
Some time later, Stephen created a 12-hour long scavenger hunt for Rachel, full of twists and turns to throw her off the scent of a proposal. The hunt paid off as it ended in front of the Denver capital building, where she found a letter that read, "One last thing to say to my girlfriend...". She turned around to find Stephen on a knee asking her to marry him. She said YES!
I met these two in July for engagement photos at the York Street Botanical Gardens. It was very apparent the love and excitement these two share! If you missed it, you can view a few of my favorites here.
These two chose Della Terra Mountain Chateau for it's simple elegance and stunning location. Their fall wedding day arrived sunny and beautiful. Rachel was all smiles as she finished getting ready. Stephen had a small panic attack when he realized that his bow tie had not made it to the venue. Instead, one of his groomswomen improvised and made a bow tie out of a regular tie! It was perfect and the rest of the day went off without a hitch.
When asked what their favorite wedding memories were, they replied, "For Stephen, it was the first look, hearing Rachel’s voice up the steps made it all so real. For Rachel it was the first dance, we learned four moves and threw them together on the spot, people still asked if it was coordinated lol."
Congratulations Rachel and Stephen! It was truly an honor to be a small part of your big day. What a party!!
The couple's biggest wedding planning advice: "Do your best to plan all the details, but know things will go wrong and at the end of it all you’ll still be married. And hire a photography team that’ll hide in the bushes for you..." ;) ;)
