Diane and Ryan met me through another wedding photographer and I'm so glad! When we chatted via video about their big day, I was excited about the unique plans they began to envision. With a small, intimate ceremony at the beautiful Robison Mansion in Cañon City and dinner reception ride on the Royal Gorge Railroad these two brought in a mix of elegant, vintage, and timeless elements.
Like many of my amazing couples, they met on Match.com and enjoyed each other's company on a first date four years ago. Diane played a little hard to get and wouldn't commit to a date with Ryan until she found a band playing at Southside Johnny's, a local bar. Little did they know the band wouldn't show and the bar hosted a burlesque show instead!
Several years later, Ryan asked Diane to marry him on New Year's Day of 2018. She loves how thoughtful Ryan is, and he loves her drive and ambition. These two initially wanted their entire wedding on the Royal Gorge Railroad, but found out they don't allow ceremonies. After a little digging, the couple found the Robison Mansion and it was 100% perfect.
Their friends and family surrounded them while they shared vows, exchanged rings, and began their forever. We finished up their portraits at the Santa Fe Trail Depot before the train departed for dinner. What a neat event.
The couple's advice on wedding planning: "Don't feel like you have to give in to every trend or option; make the day yours."
