Ashley and Christian's Winter Mountain Wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park - C

I first met Ashley and Christian last fall in beautiful Golden, Colorado for engagement photos. These two live in Midland, Texas so our initial connections were over video chat, but they traveled back to Colorado and we took advantage of the time for photos in the town they attended collage! These two met their freshman year at Colorado School of Mines back in 2012. Ashley arrived to class almost ten minutes late after missing the class for the entire first week and sat in the only empty seat next to Christian. Somehow her schedule had been changed at the last minute and she had been attending the wrong class for a full week! Over the next two years, the pair was brought together through numerous late night study sessions and quickly became best friends. They eventually gave into their feelings and began dating. In August 2014, they went on their first date to a concert at Red Rocks and have been together ever since.

Ashley and Christian both graduated college with the same degree (Petroleum Engineering). It was a very difficult time to get a job in that industry. As luck would have it, they both landed jobs the same company in Midland, Texas. However, one week before his start date, Christian was relocated to Saudi Arabia. For the next two years, they had some pretty extreme long distance and worked long and crazy hours. After being engaged for 3 months, they decided that enough was enough, they just wanted to be together and work a normal schedule! They both quit their jobs and were blessed with new jobs at the same company.

When it came time to take their relationship to the next level, Christian planned a romantic dinner and headed back to the house to see newly installed carpets. They were enjoying being new home owners with a little dance to their favorite song (Blues Man - Hank Williams Jr. - first dance song too). Christian pointed out something shiny in the corner, and when Ashley went to investigate, she quickly realized it was a ring sparkling..... she turned around and he was on one knee, asking her for forever.

These two planned a beautiful winter wedding in Colorado. They chose Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church as the backdrop for their vows, and Della Terra Mountain Chateau for the dance party afterwards! Their day arrived in true Colorado winter fashion: blustery and sunny. With just a touch of snow on the ground and wind whispering through the pine trees, they were surrounded by a huge support of family and friends.

In their own words:

"We loved everything about our wedding! The first dance, bride and groom photos, and getting down on the dance floor with all our loved ones are among the top. Enjoy it, and make a day of timeline early! As soon as the timeline is together all the pieces will fall into place. And wedding planners are worth it, we didn't get one but wish we did!"

These two are planning to honeymoon next month to Thailand! They love to travel and enjoy the outdoors.

Ashley and Christian, I'm so stinkin' happy for you two! Enjoy your travels and THANK YOU for including me in your big day!
