Geraly & Justin’s Classy Black & White Wedding at The Barn at Raccoon Creek

Some love stories begin with a perfectly planned first date. Geraly and Justin’s started a little differently—an awkward steakhouse dinner and a relationship that would eventually bring them right back to where it all began. Their classy black and white wedding at The Barn at Raccoon Creek in Littleton, Colorado was a beautiful reflection of their love: classic, joyful, and completely their own, with plenty of laughter, heartfelt moments, and the kind of Colorado weather that gave their wedding photos an unforgettable atmosphere.

It Started With Karaoke

Before their first date, Geraly and Justin had already hung out a few times. But their first real date was at Del Frisco’s, where they sat down for a steak dinner and discovered that getting to know someone you like can be just a little awkward. There was some quiet. There was some nervousness. But there was also something worth pursuing. fter dinner, they headed to The Emerald Isle—the very place where they had first met—to grab a couple of drinks and continue getting to know each other.

And then came karaoke.

What might seem like a small detail became the beginning of their relationship. Somewhere between dinner, drinks, and singing together, Geraly and Justin found the fun that would become such an important part of their story. Years later, that same sense of fun and laughter was still at the heart of their relationship. Justin quickly fell in love with Geraly’s ability to keep him grounded. Geraly loved Justin’s big heart—much bigger than he sometimes lets people see—and that he is deeply caring.

The Proposal Was Meant to Be

On December 19, 2024, their story came full circle in a way neither of them could have planned.

Justin took Geraly back to Del Frisco’s, the restaurant where they had shared their first date. They had returned to the restaurant several times over the years, but there was one thing that had never happened again: sitting in the same booth where it all started.

Until that night.

And Justin hadn’t even requested it. It was completely serendipitous. As dinner went on, Justin began acting strangely. Eventually, he told Geraly that he needed to talk to her. Naturally, she assumed something was wrong. Instead, Justin pointed out the significance of where they were sitting: the same booth. The same place where their story had started. Then he got down on one knee and asked Geraly to spend the rest of her life with him. It couldn’t have been more fitting.

A Little Colorado Weather, a Lot of Love

When their wedding day arrived at The Barn at Raccoon Creek in Littleton, it felt like the perfect next chapter. The day brought warm Colorado sunshine, a little sprinkle of rain, and dramatic skies that seemed to change by the minute. For a wedding photographer, those shifting skies were a gift—and they added an incredible atmosphere to the photographs throughout the day. But the weather wasn’t the most memorable part.

That belonged to Geraly and Justin. With eight incredible friends standing beside each of them, their wedding party was a beautiful reminder of how many people are cheering them on as they begin this next chapter. The support, laughter, and love surrounding them were impossible to miss.

Both Geraly and Justin admitted that the ceremony—and their first look—was far more emotional than they expected. Sometimes you spend months planning the flowers, the timeline, the outfits, the music, and all the tiny details of a wedding day. And then, suddenly, you’re standing across from the person you’re choosing for the rest of your life.

The planning disappears. It’s just the two of you. And that’s exactly what happened. They exchanged vows and rings, promised to continue choosing each other, and sealed it all with a kiss surrounded by the people who love them most.

The couple’s biggest wedding planning advice? “Give yourself more buffer time than you think you need, practice your first dance, condense your family photos as much as possible, and do Sarah’s package the has a videographer”.

Geraly and Justin, thank you for trusting me to photograph such an important chapter of your story. Congratulations, you two. Here’s to a lifetime of choosing each other—and maybe a little karaoke along the way.
