Morgan & James’ Vibrant Summer Wedding at Sweet Heart Winery

Some wedding days just feel like a celebration from beginning to end—and Morgan and James’ Sweet Heart Winery wedding was exactly that. From a sweet first look at The Elizabeth Hotel to a sun-soaked ceremony, vibrant florals, and an absolutely electric dance floor, every part of their Northern Colorado wedding day felt unmistakably them. These two are the definition of a power couple: energetic, playful, deeply connected to their people, and always ready to have a good time. And honestly? Their wedding day was one giant party surrounded by the people they love most.

The Story

Morgan and James met online through Tinder, and their first date involved two things that already hinted at the kind of relationship they would build together: bowling and sushi. Their relationship has always had a real-life rom-com quality to it—fun, goofy, spontaneous, and full of the kind of laughter that makes everyone around them want to join in.

For Morgan’s 30th birthday, James proposed at sunrise in Maui. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting engagement story for a couple who loves to snowboard, camp, travel, and spend time with their friends. Their wedding day carried that same energy. There were joyful tears, ridiculous amounts of laughter, hugs with their favorite people, and plenty of moments where it was obvious just how much these two are loved.

Morgan and James chose Sweet Heart Winery & Event Center in Loveland, Colorado. The property checked all the boxes for what they envisioned: beautiful scenery, easy access for their guests, and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that allowed the celebration to unfold naturally throughout the day. Their vision was a warm summer evening filled with wine, color, connection, and plenty of time to celebrate.

Sweet Heart Winery was the perfect setting. With its picturesque property and combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, the venue offered plenty of opportunities for portraits while creating an easy transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The summer sunshine made the outdoor portions of the day especially beautiful, while the reception space became the backdrop for one seriously epic party.

A Sweet First Look at The Elizabeth Hotel

Before heading to the winery, Morgan and James began their wedding day at The Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins. They shared their first look on the hotel’s stunning spiral staircase—a beautiful setting for a moment that was equal parts anticipation, excitement, and pure joy. There was something especially fitting about beginning the day somewhere so stylish before heading out to the vineyard for a summer wedding.

And once they saw each other? The rest of the day was officially on. James was awe-struck upon seeing his bride for the first time and Morgan was all smiles. They embraced and danced and shared the sweetest moments together.

A Vibrant Summer Wedding at Sweet Heart Winery

One of my favorite parts of Morgan and James’ wedding was how intentionally their personalities came through in the design. Lace and Lilies brought the color. And they absolutely brought it. The vibrant floral arrangements added energy and dimension throughout the day, creating a beautiful contrast against the natural surroundings of Sweet Heart Winery. The flowers felt joyful, colorful, and completely appropriate for these two. The result was a wedding that felt polished without feeling overly formal—and colorful without losing its elegance.

There are weddings where the guest list is technically full. And then there are weddings where you can feel how much every person in the room means to the couple. Morgan and James had the second kind. Their friends and family didn’t simply attend their wedding. They showed up ready to celebrate. Every hug seemed a little tighter. Every laugh was a little louder. Every person on the dance floor seemed determined to make the night count. That kind of energy is impossible to manufacture, and it made photographing this day an absolute joy.

And Then the Dance Floor Exploded

If there was one thing everyone at this wedding understood, it was the assignment: dance.

From the first song until the very end of the night, the dance floor was packed. The energy just kept building, and eventually the reception became the kind of dance party people talk about long after the last song ends. It was loud. It was joyful. It was a little chaotic in the best possible way.

Morgan and James, your wedding day was such a reflection of the two of you: full of color, full of laughter, full of personality, and full of people who absolutely adore you. Congratulations, you two. Your love is magnetic, your people are incredible, and I’m so grateful I got to document this chapter of your story.
