One word best describes Liz and Elijah: joyful.
Elizabeth and Elijah met during training for a management consulting job in Boston. They spent time together walking around Boston and NYC that fall, talking about everything from their jobs to faith to favorite songs. They quickly fell for each other's playful personalities and common priorities in life of God, family, and friends. They spent the next couple of years enjoying concerts, long walks, and couch snuggles after a long day.
When it came time to take the next step, Elijah created an intricate multi-day scavenger hunt for Liz that included many of their favorite places in Colorado. At the end of the second day, Elijah pretended to lose his airpods so they have to retrace their steps back to an overlook at Horsetooth Reservoir. Elijah surprised Liz by asking her to marry him! She was thrilled and of course, said YES! They walked back to their car where their family was waiting to surprise them with signs spelling out "SHE SAID YES!".
I had the honor of photographing Liz's sister, Emily and Galloway's, wedding last year. Liz was her maid of honor, so when Liz and Elijah reached out to me to capture their wedding too, I was thrilled!
Liz and Elijah opted for a fall wedding in mid October. Their foundation of faith is a cornerstone in their lives which was perfectly embodies with a ceremony at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor, followed by celebrating at The Big Red Barn at Highland Meadows Golf Course. We were all hoping for perfect fall weather and beautiful colors, and we certainly got it!
I don't think there was one moment of their entire day where Liz didn't have a smile. Truly, she and Elijah are such beautiful souls to be around. Their effortlessly joyful personalities are a breath of fresh air! One of my favorite moments of their wedding day was taking golden hour portraits with Liz before they got introduced into their reception. She frolicked and spun in her incredible dress like a princess with the warm sunlight backlighting her. Pure joy.
When asked about their favorite wedding memory, their response: "Besides our vows and hearing the tear-jerking speeches, seeing all of our friends and family on the dance floor."
