On a Monday morning in early March, I received a message through my website from a panicked bride whose photographer had bailed for their wedding HAPPENING IN FIVE DAYS. I immediately called her and we chatted details for their spring wedding at Windsong Estate near Severance. Fortunately, both my second shooter and I had open availability that weekend to help out Michelle and Mike!
These two met on Bumble. There's a running joke: "All because we swiped right!" They shared a first date at Torchy's Tacos (um, duh!) and instantly felt a connection. Michelle fell in love with Mike's honest and caring personality, while Mike adores how organized and loving Michelle is.
Michelle and Mike found themselves four-wheeling together and traveled to Sand Hallow, Utah each year for an annual wheeling trip. It was a smaller group than usual but still a great time. A few days into the trip, Mike was grilling steaks for dinner while Michelle sipped wine (again, duh!) feeling very grateful and contented. She thought, "Life is great, this vacation is amazing, and I couldn't be happier!" A few minutes later, that all changed. FOR THE BETTER. Mike came up behind her and dropped to one knee, asking her to turn around and to marry him. Of course, she said YES!
Their wedding day arrived sunny and beautiful for early spring. Michelle was all smiles sipping bubbly and having one of her bridesmaids do her hair and makeup. The prep room full of ladies was bustling and full of positive energy! Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE wedding details: dress, invitations, rings, flowers, all the pretty goodies! Michelle's goodies were beautiful so we spent the first bit of time capturing those. Mike arrived a short time later with his troop of guys, surrounded by grins and jokes. Soon they shared their First Look on the beautiful stairs at Windsong Estate. It was all smiles and kisses and a perfect moment.
When asked about their favorite wedding memory, they replied "Our favorite wedding memory is our first look, we are both so happy we did it with just us two!"
Michelle's biggest wedding planning advice: "Don’t stress about anything that goes ‘wrong’, it’ll be the best stories for the rest of your life!"
Congrats, Michelle and Mike! Here are a few favorites telling your wedding day story!
