Just shy of one month ago, I had the pleasure of celebrating with Kayla and Scott during their beautiful wedding in the mountains! These two were married at Blackstone Rivers Ranch at the end of May and it couldn't have been a more perfect spring day.
Kayla and Scott are literally kindergarten sweethearts! They lived one street apart during their childhoods and had crushes on each other growing up. Scott even kissed Kayla in kindergarten and tried for a few more when he was older but Kayla was hesitant because of their close friendship and didn't want to ruin it.
They parted ways for a bit during college, but in their sophomore year Scott asked Kayla on a date to a Dierks Bentley concert for her birthday gift. A short month later, they were officially dating. When Kayla decided to attend graduate school in Arizona, they endured a long distance relationship for more than two years. On the road trip from moving Kayla back home, Scott proposed in Palisade, Colorado. Scott had bought a nice bottle of wine earlier that day from the vineyard and on the patio playing games that evening, he popped the question. Of course, SHE SAID YES!
These two enjoy hiking and camping, sipping wine or trying new craft beers and playing board games. Kayla loves Scott's sense of humor and passion for his jobm while Scott loves Kayla's thoughtfulness and love for family and dogs.
Blackstone Rivers Ranch was the perfect backdrop for their big day. The day arrived sunny and typical for spring. As the clouds moved in, these two were all smiles and soon they shared their vows and exchanged rings to begin the next chapter of their life-long journey.
I adored their families! Kayla is so close to her dad, and they were surrounded with such a blanket of love and joy. When asked about their favorite wedding day memory, they said "Our favorite wedding memory was dancing and celebrating with family and friends but the first look was very special for the both of us."
The couple's biggest planning advice: "Give yourself plenty of time to plan so you have a good balance between planning, work, and everyday life. Also, put your money towards your dream venue and photography as these are the moments you will have forever. A wedding planner is something to have too, even if it's a month of planner because she kept our day organized so family members could enjoy the evening without having to organize."
A HUGE shout-out to their vendor dream team:
